The Republic of Burundi is a country in Central Africa in the Great Lakes region. It is bordered by the Republic of Rwanda to the north, the United Republic of Tanzania to the southeast, and the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west. Burundi is a small state with an area of 27,834 km2 and a population of about 13 million. The capital, Bujumbura, is located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.
Climate
Burundi enjoys a tropical climate with temperatures varying according to altitude. In the lowlands (Bujumbura) they reach a maximum of 23 degrees while at altitude they do not exceed 15⁰C. The dry season extends from June to September and the rest of the year is moderately humid.
